Scented Gel Candles

Modern Technology Meets Candle Making: Scented Gel Candles

Have you heard of the latest innovation in candles? It's gel candles. What are gel candles? Well, traditional candles are made from either paraffin or beeswax. Gel candles, on the other hand, are made from a specially-processed mineral oil that when cooled becomes like gelatin. Gel candles are extremely popular today because of their unique texture and appearance -- unless the liquid has been colored, this gel is normally transparent.

Another interesting facet of gel candles is that you can place small objects into a container, and then pour the liquid gel mixture on top -- this allows you to produce a candle with the objects embedded inside them. Because scented gel candles are transparent, you'll be able to see the embedded objects inside.

A good example of a scented gel candle comes to us from Langley Candle. It is their Apple-cinnamon scented gel candle. It is 18 ounces in size and features several sticks of cinnamon and an apple embedded in the jar. Of course this gel candle will give off the scent of apples and cinnamon -- and it will burn for up to 75 hours.

Another product, offered to us by Angelo Gifts, is their autumn Oak fragrance leaf scented gel candle. Priced at $24.99, this scented gel candle features a refreshing autumn Oak fragrance and will burn for up to 60 hours. When the candle has completely burned out, you can refill it with tea lights of your choosing.

Another scented gel candle from Angelo Gifts -- one that is perfect for use around the holidays -- is their holiday collection gingerbread fragrance scented gel candle. This item normally retails for $27.99, and features a delightful arrangement of square pine cones and blueberry leaves on a base that resembles newly fallen snow. This scented tea candle is so beautiful you may not even want to light the wick!

Another beautiful scented gel candle arrangement is the Mini Daisy White Blossom fragrance scented gel candle, also made by Angelo Gifts. Normally priced at $22.95, this scented gel candle arrangement features a white blossom fragrance in a 3-inch round bowl of mini daisies. The candle will provide you and your guests with up to 40 hours of scented pleasure. As with all Angelo Gifts candles, this one is also refillable with tea lights.

If you're someone who just can't be without the smells of summertime, then you should check out the sunflower-scented gel wax candle. This candle has been poured into a 10 ounce old-fashioned preserve jar, and it comes with a metal screw-off lid. It captures the scent of sunflowers growing tall at the height of summer -- just light this candle and you will be reminded of warmer days, and warmer days still to come, even during the coldest winter days.

And if you just love the aroma of food, then you'll love a scented gel candle manufactured by Angels Heavenly Scents. The scent of this candle is called "Warm Vanilla Sugar" -- according to the company, it is a "warm sweet vanilla with a hint of floral." These scented gel candles are poured in 6 ounce jars, and burn for 60-60 hours.

I hope these brief product descriptions have convinced you that scented gel candles are truly unique items to have around your home -- and they also make a truly unforgettable gift for others. Why not buy one today?

Gel is a great choice for candles. I like the way they look in the jar/glass/container, but IMO they burn more quickly, rather they carry the scent into the air more efficiently/effectiv ely. I like how they accent a room again IMO better than the wax variety. I wonder, is there any side effects from the smoke these candles produce (smell?). I heard that some candles emmit some sort of a dangerous chemical into the air that carries the aroma and you can get cancer (may be a bit much but thats what I read). Is gel safer than wax? Inquiring minds want to know...

Wow, I have never had a gel candle before, but am going to buy one now. I wonder if you can buy the stuff and make one yourself.
